Before any entry is considered, we assess whether the work can be completed using CCTV cameras, high-pressure water jetting or other remote methods. Where entry remains necessary, the work is planned in line with the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 and relevant HSE guidance on safe work in confined spaces, with hazards, access arrangements, working methods and emergency procedures established before work begins.

A confined space is an enclosed or largely enclosed area where there is a reasonably foreseeable risk of serious injury from conditions such as fire, explosion, loss of consciousness, asphyxiation or drowning.
Can the work be completed without entering the space?
Where reasonably practicable, we use CCTV surveying, jetting and other remote methods to avoid entry. A site review determines whether confined-space entry is genuinely required.
What documentation is prepared before entry?
Requirements depend on the task and site, but normally include a suitable risk assessment, method statement, safe system of work and details of the required emergency arrangements. Client permit systems can also be incorporated.
